Dough Dish

Ingredients (Serves 4)
1 cup green whole lentils
1 large onion
1 tablespoon plain oil
For the Dough
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
Enough water
Preparation
Put two cups of flour in a tray and knead to the consistency of an earlobe by adding water and salt and turning it into dough. The dough, which is rolled out with a rolling pin to a thickness of half a cm, is cooked on a sheet and cut into 3-4 cm long pieces in the thickness of noodles. Green lentils are washed in a pot and cooked with water until they soften, then the previously prepared dough is poured into it and boiled for 10-15 minutes. Finely chopped onions are fried in oil in the pan until they turn pink, then added to the pot and served.
*In some regions, such as Birecik, it is called ‘Kaşığabinen’ is also called.
